Privacy policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This notice is issued by Blueseal Tech (Pty) Ltd for the Blueseal brand, bluesealtech.com, and general client interactions. “Blueseal” is our operating name; contracts and statutory notices may refer to Blueseal Tech (Pty) Ltd. This notice is designed to align with South Africa’s POPIA and CPA where they apply, and with common UK and EU privacy expectations where those laws apply to visitors or processing. It is not legal advice. Formal data processing or operator terms for managed services are provided during contracting where required.
Who we are
This policy describes how Blueseal Tech (Pty) Ltd, which carries on business under the operating name Blueseal (“Blueseal”, “we”, “us”, “our”), handles personal information when you visit our website at bluesealtech.com, contact us, or engage our ICT services. Blueseal is the customer facing name for the same legal entity. We are a private company incorporated in South Africa. For processing tied to a particular engagement, your order form or master services agreement may add further detail.
What we collect
We may collect: (1) identifiers and contact details you submit (name, email, phone, company); (2) technical data from your browser or device (IP address, general location, user agent, pages viewed, timestamps); (3) communications you send us (support messages, meeting notes you choose to share); and (4) cookie or similar local storage values where permitted by your choices.
How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, deliver and improve our services, secure our systems, comply with law, and understand how the site is used when you have allowed analytics cookies. We do not sell your personal information.
South Africa (POPIA)
If you are in South Africa or we process your personal information in South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) applies. Blueseal Tech (Pty) Ltd, operating as Blueseal, acts as responsible party for personal information we determine the purpose and means of processing. We process personal information lawfully in line with POPIA’s conditions, including accountability, processing limitation, purpose specification, further processing limitation, information quality, openness, security safeguards, and data subject participation. You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, and request correction or deletion where POPIA allows. For enquiries related to POPIA, including questions about our Information Officer, contact info@bluesealtech.com. If you believe we have interfered with your privacy, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) in addition to contacting us first so we can try to resolve the matter.
Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing, we rely on appropriate bases such as consent (for example cookies that are not strictly necessary for the site to work), contract (delivering services you request), legitimate interests (network security, limited analytics compatible with your rights), and legal obligation where required. These bases apply alongside, not instead of, POPIA where both laws apply to the same processing.
Sharing
We may share data with operators and subprocessors that help us operate the Blueseal business (for example email, hosting, CRM) under confidentiality and, where required, operator or data processing terms consistent with POPIA and other applicable law. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of Blueseal Tech (Pty) Ltd, the Blueseal brand and operations, our clients, and the public.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, accounting, or dispute resolution needs under South African and other applicable law. Cookie choices are stored locally in your browser with an expiry date as described in the cookie banner.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle, in line with POPIA’s security safeguard requirement and comparable international practice. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage strong authentication on your side where available.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under POPIA (including access, correction, and objection to processing in prescribed circumstances), under the GDPR or the UK GDPR, or under other laws. To exercise rights, contact info@bluesealtech.com or +27 67 284 1121. We will respond within a reasonable period and advise you of any grounds for refusal where the law permits. You may also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa), the UK ICO, an EU supervisory authority, or another competent regulator, depending on your situation.
International transfers
If we transfer personal information outside South Africa or the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards where required (for example, adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other mechanisms recognised under POPIA, GDPR, or UK law).
Children
Our site and services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent as required under POPIA and other applicable rules on protecting children.
Direct marketing
Where South African law applies, we will not use your personal information for direct marketing by electronic communication without your consent in the form required by law (including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 where relevant). You may withdraw marketing consent at any time using the same contact details below.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on bluesealtech.com or communicated where appropriate.
